(formerly China Update) 

Dear All,

I decided to change the title of our ministry update from “China Update” to “C2C Ministries Update” so as to more appropriately reflect on the contents of my updates. I suppose by now you all know that C2C stands for Chinese to Christ. This has been my calling from our Lord since 1969 when He told me to come to the United States for Bible and ministry training and then to go back and make disciples for Him among the Chinese people. I have been doing that ever since I graduated from Summit Christian College (formerly Platte Valley Bible College) in 1974. I am so thankful that some of you have been my ministry supporters since then! The Lord has been showing His mercy to my ministry team, to my family and to me through all of you! Thank you and Praise Him!

Let me share with you some good news. Through the grace of God, Lemuel and Hannah moved to a twenty year old house and fixed it up to be used by C2C and CSCS (Chinese Students Care Services). We are so thankful that now we have a spacious and efficient office. There is also plenty of room for university students and young people to hang around for fellowship and study as well. Please pray that the Lord will bless us in being able to make full use of this house for His glory and honor!     

Our Chinese missionary couples in —– have also been making good contacts and extending their ministry to more people. Worship services and small group studies have been established. They use “Family Education” as a cover for their evangelistic activities in China. Please pray for them and all of our teammates in China. We have to be more careful now since the Chinese government has enforced their new religious regulations since February. Lemuel has written an article about the current Chinese policies and actions towards Christianity in China in comparison to Nazi manipulation of Christianity during WW2. I urge you to take a few minutes of your time to read it and pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in China!

Our Lord is expanding C2C Ministries to the youth ministry at Manchester Chinese Christian Church. Most of these young people are in high school. Since they grew up in America, their primary language would be English. The church used to have a part-time American youth pastor leading them but he recently accepted a full-time appointment with an American church, which then leads to our team taking over this responsibility in June. Please bring this matter in your prayers as we are preparing the teaching materials and getting the ministry team ready to take over the youth ministry! Pray that the transition will be smooth and the young people will soon develop a trusting relationship with our team.

I have my next China mission trip planned for June and July. Besides visiting some of our newly developed territories for evangelism and church planting, I am hoping that we can arrange all of our church leaders to come to a safe place for a meeting to pray, study and plan for our future Kingdom efforts in China. They will need to lift each other up in the Lord, strengthen and encourage each other, and seek the Lord’s guidance to make disciples for Him during these most difficult circumstances. Please pray that the Lord will reveal a safe meeting place for us and may you also pray that the Lord will provide the funding since we will need to fly about twenty of them to this meeting place and stay for at least three days.
